Help
Fit, finish, flow and returns.
Most of what goes wrong with a faucet is decided before it is ever fitted. These are the questions worth answering first. If yours is not here, email us and a person will reply.
Will it fit?
What do I need to measure before I order?
Four things, and they take about two minutes:
- Tap holes. How many your sink or basin has, and their diameter. A single-hole faucet will not fit a three-hole basin without a cover plate.
- Clearance. The height from the deck to where the spout will sit, and the depth of the bowl. A tall spout over a shallow basin splashes.
- Supply connections. The size and type of the flexible tails coming up to your existing tap.
- Space underneath. Room for the hose to travel on a pull-down model, and for the filter housing on the model that has one.
Email info@crivanto.com with the model you are looking at and we will send exact dimensions before you commit.
Can I fit it myself?
We strongly recommend a qualified plumber, and installation must follow the plumbing rules that apply where you live. This is not a disclaimer for its own sake: incorrect installation is the commonest cause of failure in this category, it is not a manufacturing defect, and a faucet connected badly to a pressurised supply is how a small job becomes a water-damage claim.
If you do fit it yourself, isolate the supply before you start and do not over-tighten the connections — over-tightening splits fittings and is specifically excluded from the warranty.
Once it is installed, can I still return it?
No. Returns are for uninstalled items only. Once a faucet has been connected to a water supply it cannot be returned as unused — at that point your route is the twelve-month warranty instead.
This is why the checking has to happen before the fitting. Offer the faucet up to the sink, confirm the holes and the clearance, and only then start connecting.
How it works
How does the temperature display get its power?
From the water. A small turbine sits in the waterway and generates its own current as water passes through it, so there is no battery to change and nothing to plug in. The reading appears a second or two after you turn the water on.
It is a readout, not a thermostat. It tells you the temperature at the spout; the lever is still what sets it.
And the touchless sensor?
The sensor is a separate electronic circuit from the display. An infrared window in the spout opens a valve when a hand enters range and closes it when the hand leaves. The manual lever still works normally — it sets temperature and maximum flow, and the sensor simply turns that flow on and off.
Check the fitting instructions in the box for the sensor's power arrangement before you plan the installation, and factor it in with the rest of the under-sink work.
What does the built-in filter actually do?
The cartridge sits inline at the base of the faucet and is designed to reduce sediment, rust particles and the taste of chlorine. Replace it when the flow noticeably slows — how long that takes depends entirely on your water.
It is not a substitute for a certified drinking-water purifier. If your supply is not already safe to drink, this faucet does not make it so.
Is the fountain mode safe to drink from?
It delivers whatever water your plumbing delivers. Only use it for drinking if your mains water is already safe to drink at the tap. Rinse the fountain nozzle occasionally and keep it clear of toothpaste and soap.
What does “1080° rotating” mean?
Three separate swivel points — the body, the spout arm and the nozzle — each turning through a full circle. Added together that is where the figure comes from. In practice it means you can push the spout out of the way to clean the basin, or angle the flow toward you rather than straight down.
Finishes and care
Will the finish match the photograph?
Closely, but a photograph is an indication rather than a colour match. Plating and powder coat read differently under warm bulbs than under daylight, and every screen renders metal its own way. If an exact match to something already in the room matters, email us before you order.
Does every model come in every finish?
No. The finishes shown on a product page are the ones we actually stock for that model. Across the range there are seven — chrome, brushed nickel, matte black, brushed gold, brushed bronze, grey and white — and each has a code that appears at the end of the SKU, which is the quickest way to tell us exactly which one you mean.
How do I clean it without wrecking the finish?
A soft damp cloth, then dry it. That is genuinely all most finishes need.
No abrasive pads, scouring powder, bleach or acidic limescale removers — they dull the plating, and damage caused that way is not covered by the warranty. In a hard-water area, drying the spout after use and rinsing the aerator mesh every few months keeps the flow even.
The flow has dropped off. Is it broken?
Usually not. A blocked aerator is the commonest cause and takes a couple of minutes to rinse out. Scale build-up from hard water is the next commonest. Neither is a manufacturing defect, and both are excluded from the warranty for that reason — but email us with a photo and we will talk you through it before you assume the worst.
Ordering, delivery and returns
What does shipping cost and how long does it take?
- United States, standard — free, 5–9 business days
- United States, expedited — US$29.99, 3–5 business days
- Rest of world, standard international — US$34.99, 10–20 business days
Orders are checked and packed within 1–3 business days. Delivery estimates run from the day your order ships, not the day you place it, and they are carrier estimates rather than guarantees. Full detail is in our Shipping Policy.
Will I pay customs or import duty?
Possibly, on orders shipped outside the United States. Import duty, VAT or GST and customs handling fees are set by the destination country, are not included in what you pay us, and are the recipient's responsibility. We cannot calculate them in advance.
How do I return something?
You have 30 days from delivery to request a return. The item must be uninstalled, unused, in its original packaging and complete with every fitting, hose, gasket and instruction sheet it shipped with.
Email us with your order number and the reason. We reply within 2 business days and confirm the return address — please do not send anything back before you have that confirmation, because an unannounced return cannot be matched to an order.
On faulty, damaged or incorrect items we cover return shipping. On a change of mind, you do; these are heavy brass items, so use a tracked and insured service.
How long do refunds take?
Once your return arrives and passes inspection we issue the refund to the original payment method within 5 business days, and we email you when it goes. Your bank may take a further 5–10 business days to post it, which is outside our control.
What does the warranty cover?
Twelve months from delivery against manufacturing defects under normal domestic use — failure of the ceramic disc valve or cartridge, failure of the sensor, solenoid or temperature display on electronic models, leaks from the body or internal seals, and defects in materials, plating or assembly.
It does not cover damage from incorrect installation or over-tightening, scale and blockages from hard water, finish damage from abrasive or acidic cleaners, accidental damage, units dismantled or repaired by anyone else, normal cosmetic wear, or consumables like washers, O-rings, hoses and aerators. The full list is in the Return, Refund and Warranty Policy.
Something arrived damaged.
Photograph the packaging and the item before you dispose of anything, and email us within 7 days of delivery. We replace or refund in full, including shipping, at your choice. If tracking shows no movement for 14 consecutive days, tell us and we will open a carrier investigation.
